Alexa was touring us around Victoria when we come upon a quiet little park on Douglas Street.
There was a monument of our Canadian hero, Terry Fox. About 20 feet from it is a memorial that says "Mile 0."
In my thinking, because so many years have passed, I believe it is the starting point for Terry Fox's run across Canada. But it is not.
Actually Terry started his journey in Newfoundland and ended in Ontario when his cancer came back.
The "Mile 0" refers to the begining of Highway 1 that stretches all the way across Canada starting here in Victoria, BC.
The memorial to Terry Fox was erected here in 2006.
