Nanaimo has a populations of about 85,000 people. It is located about 110 km. north west of Victoria and about 55 km. west of Vancouver.
Diana Krall and Cory Monteith are Nanaimo born citizens.
The city started with coal as their chief industry, but as wood replaced coal, the lumber industry took over.
The harbours are gorgeous here. We watched while numerous float planes took off for the mainland.
Guess what this is??? Debbie told me that if I couldn't pronounce the name of the city....Nanaimo, I couldn't order the dessert???? I practiced a lot. It is just such a tongue twister for me.
This starfish was found right down at the harbour near the float plane building. It was huge. Where was my snorkel mask when I needed it???
